Nvidia Launches Tesla Graphics Chip K40
Nvidia Launches Tesla Graphics Chip K40, Techkonology - Artificial Nvidia Tesla graphics Chip has
been used extensively for supercomputers to accompany the main CPU. Co-processor is the latest is the Tesla K40, which is an improvement from its predecessor, Tesla K20X. Tesla K40 reached 1.43 teraflop performance, i.e. 20% faster than K20X which was launched a year ago.
Tesla graphics Chip on the supercomputers used to process applications of complex mathematics and science. K20X has been used in supercomputers the U.S. Department of energy Titan performers 17,89 petaflop. Up to June this year, Titan is still the fastest supercomputer, the Tianhe-shifted before 2 belongs to China. Tianhe-1 supercomputer that performs 33,86 Intel Xeon processors use petaflop E5 and akeselerator Xeon Phi.
K40 using Kepler architecture from Nvidia that have been modified, who has also been used on K20X. Does K40 has 2880 core and memory 12 GB, i.e. twice the memory of the K20X. The basic Clock speed of all of the graphics core is 745MHz, which can be upgraded to 810MHz or 875MHz.
The vendors that will make computer use among other Cray K40, Pakcard Hewlett-Packard, Dell, IBM, Silicon Graphics, Asustek, and more. This Chip in addition to the supercomputer to the computer worsktation, not for the PC.
